Dr. McHan provides therapeutic treatment involving the manual manipulation of joints throughout the body, commonly referred to as spinal or joint manipulation. Chiropractic adjustments can help alleviate pain, improve physical function, and promote proper body alignment. This form of care serves as a valuable complement to traditional medical treatments, supporting overall health and well-being.
First Visit:
Dr. McHan will create a personalized treatment plan designed just for you, using your exam findings and any relevant test results to provide the most effective care in order to help you feel your best.
Chiropractic Treatments:
Dr. McHan applies a controlled amount of pressure to specific joints to gently move them beyond their usual range of motion. This technique helps realign vertebrae that may be slightly out of position and can release small pockets of gas within the joints, often resulting in a gentle popping sound.
Dr. McHan treats a wide range of conditions affecting the nervous and musculoskeletal systems. As a Doctor of Chiropractic, she specializes in addressing pain or dysfunction involving the muscles, bones, and joints. Musculoskeletal discomfort can occur anywhere in the body — including the head and jaw, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, pelvis, knees, and ankles.
Spinal Manipulation/Adjustments:
Targeted pressure applied to the spine to restore proper alignment and promote overall spinal health.
Soft Tissue Therapy:
Hands-on treatment to relieve tension in muscles, tendons, and ligaments, supporting mobility and reducing discomfort.
Stretching & Exercise Guidance
Personalized exercises and stretches designed to strengthen muscles, improve flexibility, and prevent future injuries.
Posture & Ergonomic Advice
Practical recommendations to improve posture and daily movement habits, supporting long-term wellness.
Pain Management Support
Techniques and guidance to help manage chronic or acute pain, enhancing overall comfort and function.
Our comprehensive menu includes Chiropractic Adjustments, Graston Technique, Physiotherapy, and Muscular Release Therapies.
Chiropractic Manipulations, or Adjustments, are non-invasive treatment procedures to the joints of the body's spine and/or extremities. The purpose is to relieve pain and to restore joint motion, as well as the overall function of the body. Chiropractic adjustments are quick motions on a restricted joint after removing all the muscle and joint slack. They may cause a "popping" sound, which is simply a tiny air pocket in the joint called a cavitation.
Electrical muscle stimulation, also called EMS, is a type of therapy in which electrical impulses are generated by a machine and travel through electrodes on the patient's skin and then into their muscles. The electrical impulses mimic the central nervous system's impulses and cause the muscle to contract. Usually, electrical muscle stimulation is used in therapeutic applications.
Through passive stretches and active motions, targeted muscles and tendons will release from the tight grip they are in when strained or injured. For the purpose of stabilizing the muscles and tendons, strengthening exercises specific to the problem areas are performed.
Kinesio® Taping can be an effective treatment for joint dysfunction, muscle disorders, lymphedema and neurological conditions. Appropriate for many health-related disciplines and practices, Kinesio® Taping may help alleviate pain and facilitate the rehabilitation process.
Used in conditions involving tight or restricted muscles in any part of the body. Following an isometric contraction (a muscle contraction without much change in the distance between its origin and insertion) the muscle is more relaxed. The postisometric relaxation (PIR) is the immediate decline in neurological activity. Active-assisted stretching uses this decline during PIR to stretch the muscle after its isometric contraction.
Graston Technique® is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.
Trigger point therapy is specifically designed to alleviate trigger points (muscular knots) through cycles of isolated pressure and release. In this type of therapy, the recipient actively participates through deep breathing as well as identifying the exact location and intensity of the discomfort. The results and benefits of the therapy are releasing constricted areas in the muscles, thus alleviating pain. You may experience a significant decrease in pain after just one treatment.
There are a variety of conditions that affect us in our daily routines, either with pain or discomfort.

Lower back pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal complaints. It often results from muscle or tendon strain that affects spinal alignment, but can also be caused by arthritis, structural issues, or disk injuries. Chiropractic care can help relieve pain, improve function, and support long-term spinal health.

Neck pain, or cervicalgia, can vary in duration from a few days to several years. Causes include muscle strain, poor posture, stress, osteoarthritis, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, pinched nerves, and other health conditions. Treatment focuses on reducing discomfort, improving mobility, and addressing the underlying cause.

Mid-back pain, or thoracic pain, can result from poor posture, muscle strain, spinal misalignment, or injury. Although less common than neck or lower back pain, it can significantly affect daily activities and mobility. Chiropractic care focuses on relieving discomfort, improving spinal alignment, and addressing the underlying causes to restore proper function.

Chronic headaches or migraines can significantly impact daily life. Dr. McHan’s treatment approach focuses on reducing the frequency and severity of these episodes, helping you regain control and improve your quality of life.

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain affects the jaw joint and surrounding muscles, often causing discomfort while chewing, speaking, or yawning. Common symptoms include jaw stiffness, clicking, or popping. Chiropractic care and targeted therapies can help reduce pain, improve jaw function, and address contributing factors such as muscle tension, misalignment, or stress.

Muscle pain, or myalgia, can stem from tight or strained muscles, misaligned joints, or overuse. Chiropractic care, combined with targeted muscular therapies such as Active Release Techniques (ART) and Post-Isometric Relaxation (PIR) stretching, can help restore flexibility, alleviate discomfort, and improve overall function.

Joint pain can affect any joint in the body and may arise from various causes, including arthritis, injury, poor posture, or repetitive strain. Pain levels can range from mild to severe. Dr. McHan’s goal is to identify the root cause and provide targeted treatments to restore comfort and mobility.

Sciatica occurs when irritation, compression, or inflammation affects nerves running from the lower back down the legs. Common causes include muscular tension, spinal misalignment, arthritis, or disc issues. While usually not serious, chiropractic care can help relieve pain, reduce nerve irritation, and improve mobility.

Arthritis is a common condition, particularly in individuals over 50, that causes joint pain, stiffness, and inflammation. Dr. McHan will work with you to identify the type of arthritis you have, understand its underlying causes, and develop a personalized treatment plan to manage your symptoms effectively.

Extremity pain refers to discomfort in the arms, legs, hands, or feet. It can result from joint issues, muscle strain, nerve irritation, injury, or overuse. Proper assessment is key to identifying the underlying cause, and targeted chiropractic care can help alleviate pain, restore mobility, and improve overall function in the affected extremities.

Whiplash occurs when sudden movement or force strains the neck and spine, potentially affecting muscles, ligaments, nerves, and bones. While most common in motor vehicle accidents, whiplash can result from other injuries as well. Chiropractic care helps alleviate discomfort by addressing muscle and joint irritation associated with the injury.
